About the Event

orthamptonshire Domestic Abuse Service (NDAS) are proud to be hosting this free event on behalf of the South East Cyber Crime Unit.

Domestic abuse and stalking can both take place online as well as in the real world. An abuser can monitor social media, internet use, access emails and connect to devices within the home. An abuser can maintain complete control of an ex-partner’s online presence, devices and accounts. In the digital space, physical proximity is no longer relevant.

Domestic abuse, stalking and unauthorised access to computers and other electronic devices are criminal offences.

If you are supporting people experiencing Digital Domestic Abuse, The South East Regional Organised Crime Unit Cyber Protect Team will provide training to support you. This training looks at the principles of personal cyber security and how the complexities of domestic abuse increase the threat, risk and harm to victims via the cyber space.

AimsTo understand cybercrime and the law in respect to domestic abuseTo understand how abusers can exert control through the use of digital devicesTo understand how social media can be used as an attack tool

ObjectivesTo identify how victims can minimise their digital threat, risk and harm both in and outside of a relationshipTo identify what you can do to support victims to help themselvesTo establish a core action plan and provide useful resources

Please join this non-technical session to better understand how to support individuals experiencing Digital Domestic Abuse
