Current Volunteering Vacancies

Befriender  - Daventry

Are you friendly and enthusiastic, kind and compassionate? You could be just what our clients need! No matter what your background, culture, gender, age or experience, we're looking for reliable and enthusiastic volunteers to befriend our clients in our refuges. Clients are often new to the area and your role would be to support them accessing local services, finding their way around and being a friendly face.

The role can evolve to suit your skills and requires just 2 hours from you each week (between 9am-4pm, Monday - Friday).

If you're interested, please apply here, or get in touch via: volunteer@ndas-org.co.uk

Donations Volunteers

Could you help us to use donations more effectively? We're looking for volunteers to help collect, deliver and sort donations, ensuring they get to where they're needed most.

You'll need a driving licence and access to a vehicle and be willing to lift and carry donated items such as boxes of toiletries, toys, and occasional items of furniture. This role will be ad hoc with certain times of the year being busier than others, but we'd expect you'll need to be available a few hours each month, during the standard working day.

If you're interested, please apply here, or get in touch via: volunteer@ndas-org.co.uk

Volunteer Gardeners

Do you love being outdoors and getting creative in the garden? We are looking for reliable and green fingered volunteers to help keep our outdoor spaces looking their best.

If you’re available to help at your local refuge garden for a couple of hours each week or fortnight, then please consider getting in touch. Tasks will include garden tidying, weeding and pruning.

If you're interested, please apply here, or get in touch via: volunteer@ndas-org.co.uk

Volunteer Hairdressers and Nail Technicians

Are you a qualified hairdresser or nail technician? Would you be willing to volunteer some of your time to help boost the morale of those affected by domestic abuse?

Arriving in refuge is tough and starting again in a new area takes courage and resilience. We would love to be able to treat residents to a haircut or to have their nails done once they have settled into refuge life; to give them a chance to feel more like themselves and to build their feelings of self-worth.

If you have the right skills and would be happy to offer your time on an ad hoc basis (just a couple of hours each month), then we’d love to hear from you.

If you're interested, please apply here, or get in touch via: volunteer@ndas-org.co.uk

Volunteer Handy People

Are you skilled at DIY? Handy at putting furniture together or enjoy painting the house?

We are looking for friendly, capable and reliable handy-person volunteers to undertake repair tasks on the interior and exteriors of our refuges. Although we have sites across the Northamptonshire area, we're looking for volunteers to support in the location that's most convenient for them. We'd estimate you'd need to be a available for 6-8hours per month, but that is flexible.

If you're interested, please apply here, or get in touch via: volunteer@ndas-org.co.uk

Volunteer Fundraisers

We are looking to recruit a team of volunteer fundraisers who would like to support us in our fundraising activities as well as holding their own fundraisers. We offer full training, regular team meetings and support to ensure you are fully confident in your role.

If you are interested in the above role and would like more information, then we'd love to hear from you. Please email: volunteer@ndas-org.co.uk
