Children learning with teacher

Me and Us

For children aged 5 to 11 years old

This programme aims to provide children with an opportunity to explore and learn what relationships are all about.  It considers what makes a relationship healthy or unhealthy.  What behaviours are acceptable or unacceptable and what is domestic abuse?

The programme aims to equip children with the knowledge to make safe choices and have the confidence to share concerns with their trusted adults.

We are only able to accept referrals from schools who have 5 or more children needing to do the same programmes.

The group runs for over   8  weeks with sessions lasting 1  hour 15 mins

The effects of Domestic abuse on children

Many children exposed to violence in the home are also victims of physical abuse.

Children who witness domestic violence or are victims of abuse themselves are at serious risk for long-term physical and mental health problems.

Children who witness violence between parents may also be at greater risk of being violent in their future relationships. If you are a parent who is experiencing abuse, it can be difficult to know how to protect your child.
