Escape the Trap
A Escape The Trap is a programme specifically designed to help young people recognise and protect themselves from teenage relationship abuse. For ages 12 – 16 years old.
Young people will explore the dynamics of power and control within relationships.
The group runs for 1.5 hours per week for 8 weeks
Would you be surprised to know that young people experience the highest rates of domestic abuse of any age group.
A survey of 13 to 17 year olds found that a quarter (25%) of girls and 18% of boys reported having experienced some form of physical violence from an intimate partner.
Very often children/young adults who need support will fall through the net. If their behaviour is disruptive, it is likely they will be referred to a specialist service. However in school, children can and do show other behaviours.
Escape the Trap is focused on looking at healthy relationships between peers and others.
